Jon, the medium, was seated unrestrained within the cabinet throughout the seance. Two songs were played initially, with the cabinet closed and blackout set. The red light was then turned on and the curtains opened so that transfiguration phenomena could become witnessed.

From the outset the transfiguration presentation was clear to all. Rachael, who hadn't sat with Jon before was able to see the energy around the face and within the cabinet area, as well as seeing the faces themselves as they became changed in size, shape and form.

After the silent transfiguration demonstration Billy came forward to chat with sitters. Unusually during this time Billy's face could be seen along with his voice being heard. The two elements together have not been stable previously. It seemed that the energy could either be for one thing or the other, but tonight we received both at the same time. Clearly developmental progress has been made. Billy's humour was evident as he joked with the sitters, and his presence was and much enjoyed by all:

As Buffalo withdrew a sudden brief visit from two welcome spirit guests brought smiles to sitters.

Charlie came forward next.
This recording is exceptionally interesting from Chris's point of view. She was excited by the obvious leap in the medium-spirit teams development. Part way through the recording a rush of air/energy can be heard...at the same time (we afterwards learned) the medium felt an icy cold 'figure' approaching him from behind and sliding into him...then virtually sitting within himself.

My experience of last night’s séance was different to the usual sitting. Arriving at Christine’s I felt the energy building rapidly in the lounge whilst the sitters gathered and chatted prior to going into the Lodge.

At one point I was sure I saw a spirit person standing in the hallway when I walked through to the bathroom but put it down to a trick of the light and shadows. Was a surprise at the time though.

In seance I heard Rachael (guest sitter) ask about something and the next thing I knew was that I could hear a long ‘exhale’ sound and then in breath. At the same time I felt goose bumps and chills across the front of my body as if someone was sitting on my lap but rather than having just sat down on top of me, they had somehow come from behind me and has sat ‘into’ rather than onto me.

My consciousness came both forward and at the same time I felt as though I was being pulled “away” (rather than “back”). The words were really faint and I could hardly hear them at all.

Jon, the medium, was seated within the open cabinet in blackout conditions for the first four pieces of music played. The red light was then turned on and a demonstration of transfiguration phenomena was then witnessed.

Chris recognised a friends face and others from the spirit world made their own presentations. The energy, Chris noted, upon occasion appeared more dense around the mediums face than is usually the case...often appearing dark or almost black. Clearly such things are indications of developmental progress, with the spirit team learning to blend their energy with the medium.

The designated medium, Jon, was seated in the closed cabinet within blackout conditions for the duration of two opening songs. The cabinet was then opened and red lighting set.

When the cabinet was first opened, after a short period for the settling of disturbed energy, transfiguration phenomena became demonstrated. Many different faces were seen by the sitters and much energy 'fizz' was apparent within the cabinet area, particularly around the medium's head and torso.

Chris, who has sat regularly with this medium for many years,was able to identify the presence of Hussan, Charlie, Bill (briefly), Paulie and others. Pat, who has also supported this medium for a long time, confirmed her recognition of both Hussan and Charlie. Many other faces were seen clearly, although were not recognised.

Jon was seated within the closed cabinet in blackout conditions for the duration of five songs. Towards the end of this period the red light was switched on before the cabinet was opened.

Transfiguration phenomena became demonstrated during the first part of the evening. Chris was surprised to readily recognise a friend, Bill, who had presented with less clarity on previous occasions. His presentation was immediately recognised this time and this got a thumbs up!

Pat recognised her father...Chris also recognised his presentation. Julie recognised someone also, someone she called David. Neither Julie nor Steve had sat with this Medium before so it was good to know that the presentations are now being recognised by others outside of the regular circle, rather than just by the regular sitters who are necessarily more used to seeing them.

This seance was held in mainly in clear red lighting conditions with two witnesses present.

For the first part of the seance many faces were seen, much like as a mask, over the Medium's own (transfiguration). We understand that this is enabled mainly through the manipulation of light-based energy.

NOTE: Witnesses noticed something else, around the lower part of the face, around the neck and mouth. the spriit team later desctribed this as a developmental experiment.

The medium was seated in the closed cabinet in blackout conditions for the period of four songs before the red light was switched on and the cabinet opened. Transfiguration phenomena was then demonstrated, and clearly seen by both witnesses present.

Many faces were presented. It was fascinating to watch. A large round smiling face with upper torso appearing to expand to form a rounded figure. A longer face, tall hat, slim figure. Old man...wrinkled face. Too many to define here...it has to be seen to be believed really. It was simply captivating, like a silent movie, and the demonstration lasted for about 45 minutes.

After this Bobby (spirit team) made us jump with his welcome before Charlie too came forward, to be both seen and heard. Charlie then managed and supported a few spirit visitors to become presented. During this period a face turned towards Chris....this face has been seen before, and she has felt on those mprevious occasions that it may be of a friend...but has felt uncertain, feeling the presentation unclear, and that recognition might be caused by her imagination. We sit in the Lodge for the support and development of Physical Phenomena...and if a face isn't clear, then those in the spirit world need to 'work harder'...cruel as it seems, this is the case....we aren't wishing to develop as a psychic circle...we wish to see things objectively. On this occasion however...the face presented towards Chris was clearly recognised...her hands felt damp with shock! It really is time she got used to it! Over four years now, and around 800 seances and she's still shocked by the phenomena she sees!

The face, recognised for certain, remained in place whilst Chris asked if it was possible for commmunication to become effected also. As the gentleman's words became heard, his accent was clearly presented also.

As Chris relaxed back into a state of amazed bliss...several other faces became presented. One of them, turning towards Pat, was recognised as her father.

The final communicator of the evening was Sanja. Sanja spoke clearly, responding to some questions posed by the two sitters. One of these questions had been asked by a still-sceptical friend of Chris's ...he wanted to know why spirit people would bother to present themselves in her garden shed!

As usual the seance began with a period of blackout, with the medium serated in the closed cabinet. Unusually, the presentations appeared more 3D than usual...and this change caused sitters some difficulty in recognising the faces being displayed. The effect was fascinating nevertheless.

This is the second time she has noticed this (last week of course the team offered healing towards a friend, and the same may be the case this week also)...we will ask for clarification next time we sit, and will enquire whether it might be appropriate to allow a period of time with set Intent for healing towards the close of each seance. We will see what the spirit team think about this.

The seance began as usual, with three pieces of music being played in blackout conditions, with the Medium seated within the closed cabinet The cabinet curtains were then opened and the red lighting set.

As the red lighitng was set transfiguration phenomena became displayed. During this demonstration Pat and Chris both recognised Charlie's features, and Chris recognised Hussan. A third face was also prominently displayed, with neither sitter recognising him. Other faces may or may not have been presented, as between these three there were visual changes taking place.

After awhile Charlie came forward to chat with sitters. However, Chris was still able to see 'the third face' often during this period. We later learned that the third face was that of Buffalo, a healing guide who visits regularly (but is seldom seen).

Jerry was notably 'spiritually blended' for most of the evening. Possibly this was effected in order to stabilise the energy. We often find that the work of the spirit team is affected by the unfamiliar energy of new sitters...although the teams here seem to find ways to compensate and balance things so that the phenomena can be displayed.

This evenings seance was held with just two witnesses present. Chris and Pat both sit regularly. These energy conditions offered an opportunity for the spirit team to trial a variety of lighting conditions and to alter the seating arrangements during the evening...bringing the sitters to within 4ft of the cabinet area.

Sitting so close to the medium whilst Hussan presented his appearance was quite an experience. His presence seemed very real. He was very much 'within the room with us'... his face totally obscuring that of the medium. The power and size of the man was strongly felt, with some physical appearance around the medium's torso which supported this.

Following the spirit team's demonstration of this physical phenomena they moved on to communicate with us and to answer some offered questions.

This seance began as usual with sitters seated through four songs whilst in blackout conditions. The spirit team later asked that we add a fifth song in these conditions at the next sitting, which request we will comply with of course.

Following the close of the fourth song the red light was set and the cabinet opened to reveal the medium seated within. Within a few moments energy could be seen to build again (opening the cabinet had disturbed this) around the medium's body, with focus upon his face, which soon displayed the face of Hussan, a regular spirit communicator, recognised by all three sitters. Many other such presentations followed. Some fleetingly presented, whilst others with more stability remained in place for the duration of a piece of music, so I guess for around 5 minutes. All were clearly seen, with their features displayed in great detail in many cases.

After about an hour the faces settled into the face of spirit communicator Charlie and communication took place. For the most part, even whilst speaking, Charlie's face could be identified. In earlier stages of development we noted that as soon as the medium, in trance, began to speak, the transfigured spirit faces would disappear. Since Christmas in fact, the faces of Charlie and Hussan have become inclined to remain in situ during their communication.

A friend, Paul, had asked Chris to speak to Charlie about his personal wish to sit for devleopment whilst alone. He asked for spirit guidance to do this. I offer Charlie's response:

Several of the sitters within the Lodge circle are carers, or have friends and relatives who care for those who have Autism. One element of this condition that manifests is an inclination towards compulsive behaviours, and extreme interest and dedication to one specific area of focus. Charlie spoke of this element of the Autistic condition and of its value.

This seance began with the first four pieces of music being played in blackout conditions, with the medium seated in the closed cabinet. After this, clear red lighting was set and the cabinet was opened so that sitters could clearly see anything that occured within.

Shortly after the cabinet was opened the transfiguration demonstration began. This was, as always, fascinating to watch and continued for well over half an hour. Many faces were seen. presentations of people young and old, fat and thin, tall, and short, appearing dressed in clothing styles of different ages, each presention being displayed with stablity across the medium's own face and torso. Amazing!

The séance began in blackout conditions, with the medium sitting inside the closed cabinet. After about 20 minutes the red light was switched on and the cabinet curtains opened. At that time the medium appeared ‘out of it’. Chris and Jerry were sitting side by side, so their view of the cabinet was similar.

Within a few minutes the spirit team began to present faces (transfiguration) towards the sitters. Chris and Jerry recognised regular spirit team communicators Hussan and Charlie. These two are very different to each other. Hussan being strongly featured and sturdy. Charlie’s appearance being oriental. The medium in fact looks nothing like either. After this presentation other faces were seen, varying in age, size and clarity. Three presentations seemed to be quite stable…with one face being presented several times, and in each case some physical manipulation (spontaneous positioning of hands and arms) accompanied the facial transfiguration. Following these transfiguration demonstrations the spirit team exchanged communication with the sitters.

As Charlie’s spiritual communication ended another face became presented that the sitters failed to recognise. The final communicator’s identity remained undefined, with elements of several familiar personalities bei ng displayed, as if they were blending for their own amusement...or as if one was jokingly 'taking the mick' out of the sitters, who remained baffled, but amused. The presentation, in any case, raised the energy and the seance closed on a high note.

Since November, Jon had enjoyed a break from sitting in the cabinet. Today's sitting was therefore his first 'back in the box' seance for almost three months.

The senac began with the Medium seated in the closed cabinet in red lighting conditions. After the initial three songs were played the cabinet was opened. The Medium was clearly expereincing trance control at that time and at varying levals throughout the remaining period...the total sitting being for an hour.

On this occasion there were two sitters/witnesses. Both Lynne and Chris could clearly see many face changes, overshadowing the vessel's own. For most of the time the Medium's own facial features were totally obscured. Chris recognised the appearance of Charlie...his features being of oriental appearance.
She briefly recognised Hussan, but this face wasn't totally stable in its presentation. Another face was also recognised as being a previous visitor, but Chris didn't recognise them by name...despite there being 'something familiar' about them that felt strongly familiar...so this was puzzling. Time will tell.

An interesting short seance. We are looking forward to more! Jon should be back to sitting in the cabinet regularly again from the end of February.

The seance began with the medium sitting in the closed cabinet in dim red lighting conditions. This was followed by a period spent with the cabinet opened and the red light turned up more brightly.

During the period of brighter lighting sitters were able to witness stable transfiguration phenomena. This form of transfiguration displayed figures totally unlike that of the medium himself. Soldiers, in fuill uniform, elderly gents dressed as of Victorian times, younger men dressed in casual clothing, some in arab garb, some severely upright, some clean shaven, others bearded. Some plump, some tall and narrow, some stocky and stern. Fat faces, thin faces, tall and short, all became displayed. The medium's own face forgotten. The display covered his face and torso, with some extending to full length. It was notably impressive!

This evening's seance began with sitters seated in blackout conditions. It should be noted that on this occasion both Lynne and Jerry experienced a spontaneous trance state during parts of this period and Graham experienced trance throughout the same time. Only Chris and Margaret were therefore able to act as witness to any phenomena that might occur. Note: We have an agreement with the Spirit Teams working within the Lodge that all reported phenomena must be witnessed by a minimum of two people at the same time. Therefore this evening's developmental situation, controlled by Spirit, met the terms of our agreement.

During this evening's blackout period Chris felt her hair to be touched. She also felt 'something' push her chair (upper back, below neck) and then, later, 'jerkily' knock/push her chair (left side at seat level). Due to the terms of our agreement (see above) these things would not normally be reported here, but subsequent Spirit guidance has requested that the report is made as the phenomena is considered "significant". Margaret also felt touches to her hair, after the touches to Chris's.

Following the blackout period the red lighting was set. However...just before the red lighting was put on there were sounds of a 'scuffle' within the cabinet. These sounds were heard during the latter part of the background music...but due to an overhead helicopter flight were not picked up on the audio recorder.

Due to the scuffling sounds heard to have sourced within the cabinet area, Chris was surprised, when she opened the curtains, to see the Medium sitting in a fully relaxed state of trance, breathing slowly and steadily. She therefore feels that there was 'more going on than meets the eye'. The Medium later said that he felt that he had been asleep for most of the first part of the seance...and had missed hearing a couple of pieces of music that he usually enjoyed.

On the subject of the 'scuffling' it should be explained that the cabinet structure is a permanent fixture and totally immovable. The chair placed within it is a Parker Knoll...which is sturdy and well formed. This chair structurally sound and does not creak or move without some considerable strength of pressure. Several sitters (strong men) have sat within it with the purpose of 'making it creak'...but no sound has been caused. It does not rock back and forth, nor move forward or backwards nor sideways under normal usage conditions.

This seance proved interesting in several ways. The medium afterwards told us that he felt himself to be in light trance, or in a state of relaxation thoughout the period of blackout. This may have been the case, but the transfiguration (seen in red light) was clearly witnessed, and was therefore unaffected by the initial period of apparent inactivity. The seance began as usual with the cabinet closed for the duration of the first three songs. For the following thirty minutes transfiguration phenomena was demonstrated, with a variety of presentations witnessed. After this time Billy came forward to welcome sitters.

This evenings seance took place in blackout, with witnesses Chris, Margaret and Lynne.

The decision to hold blackout seances within the Spirit Sanctuary circle was made in May 2009 at the suggestion of the spirit team, and are understood to be beneficial to the development of physical phenomena. It is the circle's policy to follow the guidance of the team when such developmental advice is offered.

After many months of sitting regurly (three weeks in blackout and one in red lighting conditions) changes have occured, but mainly such changes have been subtle, or subjective. Therefore weekly reporting has been suspended pending further development.

Note that during the monthly red light seance's transfiguration phenomena continues to be displayed. Also that during these seances sitters ask questions of the spirit team. The teams responses to such questions are recorded and offered on the Spirit Sanctuary's spiritual space site.

Tonight's seance was the last one for this year, so it seems appropriate to report the current developmental progress being made within the Spirit Sanctuary circle. Regular reports have been suspended (since mid May) due to the spirit team suggesting a few changes to the routine, which would result in no obvious activity being apparent for awhile, at least until they got the hang of whatever they are doing.

In fact 'we' now sit three weeks in blackout conditions in support of this new developmental work. The sitters feels draughts, the lodge gets icy cold (despite the radiator heating remaining switched on) and we see 'energy clouds' of various colours as well as small lights. There also seems to have been some quiet 'unexplained' sounds and a few 'touches' and 'movements'...but none of these phenomena has been fully confirmed yet (ie witnessed by more than one person at a time).

The seances held in blackout remain comfortable, with sitters singing or just relaxing within the atmosphere. Our dedication and interest continues.

On the fourth week, and also for a short time following the blackout conditions, the spirit team effectively demonstrate the transfiguration of the medium's face and torso within in red lighting conditions. This phenomena is clearly seen, each face presented is becoming more stable (some visualisations lasting for 7 seconds) and is often amazing to witness.

Aside from the transfiguration, or alongside it, the various members of the spirit team come forward to answer any questions and to speak with us socially.

For the past year, we have reported the founding and gradual progress of the Spirit Sanctuary circle and of Jon's development as a trance and transfiguration medium. For quite some time now the demonstrations of both trance communication and transfiguration phenomena have become stable. Blackout conditions. 90 minute seance.

Medium: Jon (seated in closed cabinet with waist restraint tied by Chris)

This seance was unusually held in blackout conditions, purely as we felt a desire to experiment. All seance's within the Lodge are held on an experimental basis in any case.

The music played was of popular high-energy style, which encouraged sitters to singalong upon occasion.

To be honest there was no absolutely confirmed physical phenomena evidenced. By this I mean there was no movement of specifcally marked objects or anything of that sort.

However sitters were aware of small flickers of energy lights, and foggy clouds that often obscured the luminous tabs worn by the sitters.

We had arrranged for the music to change slightly after 45 minutes, in a manner that the spirit team are familiar with. At this juncture Chris turned on the dim red lighting, before first welcoming Charlie and recieiving his permission to open the cabinet curtains in order to see the vessel, who was seen to be unusually seated cross-legged on his chair. This is not a position he himself favours as due to a knee injury this is in normal conditions particularly uncomfortable.

Red lighting conditions. 95 minute seance.

Transfiguration medium: Jon

The evening began slightly differently, with a change in music style. Jon had suggested more upbeat tempo, which was happily agreed.

The energy evident in the cabinet area, and within the room, was of high level, this being visually apparent almost from the start of this seance. Energy waves, sparky lights and almost- luminous fog were all noticed and mentioned.

Facial transfiguration was clear, ever changing, and the changes extended down the vessel's torso.

There were alterations apparent 'internally' with regard to the vessels voice. The team are working to develop independent voice.

At times the vessel's hands moved slightly, as if under spirit control. This unusual occurance led to a request for one of the sitter's to place her hand inside the cabinet area, where it rest laid to rest within the vessels own......although it was apparent that an entity had taken physical control of him. This all sounds very strange....and had to be seen to be believed.

Following this demonstration, Charlie came forward to chat with sitters. He was followed by Billy, who also chatted at some length.

As the seance drew to a close all sitters were relaxed and smiling, it had been a lovely and most enjoyable evening.

The seance began as usual with transfigured faces being clearly seen by several sitters.

Following this period of demonstration Tom came forward briefly to make his presence known. A much loved character his visit was appreciated.

Tom was followed by Charlie, who answered many questions posed by the sitters. A book is being created that will evolve around communication with Charlie that has been transcribed from audio files taken within seance conditions. This book will be made available later in the year in hard copy and for download.

Pink lighting conditions. 2 hour duration.

Transfiguration medium: Jon (seated in open cabinet)

Sitters and witnesses: Chris. Lynne. Jack. Margaret.

The seance began slightly differently to usual as the vessel, normally seated with a certain familiar presentation was instead exhibiting some movement indicative of spirit presence in some other manner. After awhile the vessels presentation 'returned' to what sitters consider to be familiar. The faces, again a familiar demonstation, then developed and flickered across and 'within' the medium's own.

Interestingly within seance, whilst the faces were being presented, Chris felt that the cabinet curtain moved, but set this aside as being imaginative (although in fact she had 'felt' similarly when seated in a recent previous seance). Later on within the seance two sitters independently mentioned seeing the same. This therefore needs to be acknowledged here. We seldom report phenomena experienced by just one person and prefer to regard presentation witnessed by more than one person to be worthy of note.

Following the transfiguration demonstration Charlie came forward and responded to many questions asked by sitters. This was followed by his offering assistence to another member of the spirit team, who came forward to support the healing of one of the sitters.

As Charlie finally took his leave Billy came through and he too had a chat with sitters and asked questions posed by them.

Billy: He didn’t want ‘em.

Chris: I don’t. Chris suspects the attempted communicators might be two spirit children.
Billy: There’s only one person he won’t let in isn’t there?
Chris: Laughs.

Billy: Ahh, I can’t say, it’s too late in the day now. Referring to this present seance, which has been running for quite some time. The energies are now lower and the vessel's consciousness is returning. This makes it difficult to talk about him without his knowing!
Chris: Ok. Yeah, he’s too aware, ok.
Billy: It’s alright with me though.

* There is a knock behind Jack’s chair. This was heard clearly on the audio recording and by three of the sitters present. We later lkearned that this was caused by the spirit children.

Chris: Yeah. Bless ‘em.
Billy: I don’t know, he wants one thing and then uh can't, make his bloomin’ mind up. Jon enjoys the demonstration of active physical phenomena within seance conditions and often mentions this to Chris as being something he'd like to experience more of.

Billy: Anyway, did you have a good night tonight?
Chris: Yes it was really very good, lots of different faces. Jon's spirit team's primary focus at the present time is upon the development and demonstration of stable transfiguration (and other related phenomena) such as might be captured clearly on a video recorder in clear lighting conditions.
Margaret: Yeah.
Billy: Did it look a bit different tonight?
Chris: Yeah.
Billy: Good, we made a bit of an effort. The camera was set up but failed to record due to the incorrect lighting setting. It is a new camera and no-one is yet used to the multiple 'gadget' factors.
Chris: Yeah, well, its worth, you know, putting the camera on and just seeing. I mean, I don’t know whether anything will show yet. I think it’s a bit early, but we’ll see.
Billy: I don’t know. You’ll have to just see how it goes.
Chris: We’ve got to test the camera out anyway, so…
Margaret: It was very good. Referring to the transfiguration demonstration witnessed this evening.
Chris: We’ve got to get used to using it haven’t we? Referring again to the camera.
Billy: In time you’ll be able to look back and use them as markers. So even though you might not see much now, you might see faint indications and then later on you’ll be able to go back and say “now we saw that one then, see, the first time”.
Chris: Yeah, that’s right.
Billy: But probably not much to see now though.
Chris: No, that’s alright. We’ll just give it a go. And its getting used to using the camera anyway. Takes me about 6 months to learn how to turn the thing on!
Billy: Let’s hope you have more success than you did with the tape recorder! Chris often fumbled with the old audio tape recorder when sitting in blackout seance conditions. This inept control often resulted in 'system failure'. We currently use a digital recorder to record most seances, with excellent results.
Group: Laughter.
Chris: Yes. Like I’d be allowed to forget that! Difficult for you working tonight isn’t it, with all this lot. Referring to the two visiting spirits who have been trying persistently to get through, and have made their presence known in many small ways.
Billy: It’s busy!
Group: Laughter.
Chris: Yeah. I’m aware that they’re both there, so it’s alright. It’s nice to see them, I’m quite happy for them to pop in and out now and again.
Billy: Mmm. Wish the same could be said for everybody. Again referring to Jon's misgivings.
Group: Laughter.
Chris: Fine. They’re pretty busy with what they’re working with most of the time, so. It’s only now and again innit? The two visiting children work regularly with another medium and are not expected to visit the lodge on a regular basis, although their expertise would be welcomed by Jon's team.

There is a long pause while (again) different spirits attempt to make themselves known.

Billy: You carry on, we won’t be long.
Chris: No, it’s alright. Whatever. We’re fine.
Billy: We’ll probably be with you in a minute or two.

Chris: It’s interesting watching the different bits and pieces; different controls and things. It’s good. It’s interesting for him (the vessel) too, different feelings, different stuff going on. Rather than him sitting there getting bored.....
Billy: It’s like having two bags…
Chris: Umm.
Billy: .and trying to fit one loaf of bread into two bags without breaking it. This discriptive reference may be beyond our understanding...although Margaret seems to have grasped it....
Margaret: Gosh, yes.
Chris: Yeah. Interesting stuff. You certainly work hard.
Billy: Anyway, while that’s been going on, how are you lot?
Chris: Yeah.
Margaret: Fine thanks.
Chris: Still fine.
Billy: You don’t have to be quiet all the time you know; it’s nice to hear your voices sometimes too. Especially if you see something specific, or significant, feel free to say because we’re busy working and not always watching what’s happening on the outside. So sometimes, just hearing a voice now and again…
Chris: Yeah. Certainly when the faces are changing.
Billy: … if we got something right we can intensify that bit.
Chris: Yeah. Yeah.
Billy: That doesn’t mean you have to feel obliged to talk all the time if you don’t want to.
Group: Ok.
Billy: Feel free if you do. You don’t have to sit here like you were all dead, at funeral or something!

Chris: I don’t want to jog him out of it by chatting like mad but…(referring to whether chatting might disturb the vessels trance condition)
Billy: You might wake him up, but don’t worry about it, it doesn’t actually affect what we’re doing at the time.
Chris: No. And I’ve no doubt you’d be able to put him deeper if you needed to anyway....
Margaret: We did notice the curtains going. And that was interesting. Within this seance several of the sitters noticed some slight movement to the cabinet curtains.
Chris: Mmm....she had seen the cabinet curtains move, but had felt this may have been her inagination...
Jack: I saw the curtains moving.
Margaret: Sorry?
Jack: I saw the curtain moving.
Margaret: Yeah.
Chris: Yeah, yeah. I’m glad you two said that. Their confirmation was welcome. 'We' seldom report phenomena that has not been witnessed by more than one sitter. It is easy to imagine things, and such imaginings are not helpful. The purpose of the Spirit Lodge Circle is to provide an environment through which spirit teams can enable evidential phenomena to be displayed. Our mutual intent is to publish genuine evidence of continuing spirit consciousness after physical death.
Billy: Yes, well. Our young friends here have got ideas and plans. One day they might even be allowed through.
Chris: That’s fine. It might liven things up a bit.
Margaret: It’s interesting isn’t it?
Billy: Well, is there anything else?
Chris: No, I think that’s about it really.
Billy: I’m glad I popped by for all that then.

Chris: We’ve finished all our questions, because we asked Charlie them....!

Billy: What’s the difference between a tree and the wind?
Margaret: Well, one you can see and one you can’t see. One is solid, appears solid, and the other one you can feel.
Billy: Well I’ll leave you to think about that then, but you’re close; along the right lines anyway.
Margaret: Oh, thank you.
Billy: Or you could just say “the leaves”.
Chris: Hmm, why?
Billy: Think about it. Well, you didn’t bring me any questions.

Billy: You want me to answer my own now do you?
Margaret: All right fair enough.
Billy: You sit there asking me questions, expecting me to know all the answers and I ask you a simple one like that, even give you half the answers, and then you sit the same way....
Group: Laughter.
Margaret: We’ll try to think of one for next time.
Billy: Yes, alright, I’m only teasing you.
Margaret: I know you are. But we do neglect you with questions don’t we?
Billy: Not really.
Margaret: Not really?
Billy: No, I usually have plenty of questions. But then they usually just start off with a little one and get very deep very quickly, so don’t worry I’m only teasing.
Chris: Right. Thinking of a question... What did your mum and dad do with you, and well themselves, when they needed the doctors and things, because....?
Billy: They buried me fairly quickly, before I started going smelly. Billy died by drowning...
Group: Laughter.
Chris: So the doctors weren’t terribly efficient in your time?
Billy: More efficient than you would suspect.
Chris: Ok.
Billy: Obviously they weren’t the same as you have now, but there was a lot of healing that happened, and a lot of people survived, and a lot didn’t.
Margaret: Yes. Was there more use of herbal remedies then?
Billy: Just a little bit.
Margaret: Oh right.
Billy: What did you expect? They didn’t have little white pills then, so it was either herbs or nothing. And anyway, where do you think the stuff that goes in the little white pills comes from?
Margaret: Well, yeah, that’s true.
Billy: It’s only concentrated forms of the herbs, but something gets lost. You get the concentrated forms now, and stuff gets lost ‘cos they look for what they call the “active ingredient”, and then think that if they can just get that on its own then that’ll be perfect, well it does work, but you lose the benefit of everything else.
Margaret: Yeah.
Chris: Did you used to know what sort of herbs did what, or was it always your parents, because you weren’t that old were you? Billy has told us that he died when he was young
Billy: Well, everybody knows. You grow up with it. You learn what the plants are called and what they’re for.
Chris: Can’t you give us a remedy for something then?
Billy: Not unless you know the old names, or I could point you to the right plant...anyway..I don’t know if I could do that anyway. So, things like; something we used to use called tangle-wort. We used to use that for when you got the knotty, umm, knotty lines in your legs…old ladies.

Billy: Yes. You get the tangle-wort and you could make a poultice of it and put it on and it would untangle things. That’s why it’s called tangle.
Chris: Oh, I see. Ok.
Billy: So if you look at the old names they usually tell you what they are for.
Chris: Ok. What things would make you sleep, apart from a hammer on your head?
Billy: I don’t know, there were lots…
Margaret: Valerian.
Billy: I don’t know…we had a small white flower on a tall stem; I couldn’t say what it was.
Chris: No, they’re all called different names now aren’t they?
Margaret: Yeah.
Billy: A lot of the old names for them are still there though. Though everyone knew a little bit about what was good and what was bad, you went to the specialists and the doctors. The ones who were thinking new thoughts, they still were trained in the old ways as well.
Chris: It’s a pitty most of that’s been lost, or, you can’t just do that as easy as that now.
Billy: Not as much is lost as you might think, it’s still there, but it’s just been overshadowed.
Chris: Mmm.
Margaret: I think there’s more interest in it now, isn’t there?
Billy: Yes. If you want to know you can find the information, it is there, and there are people who can still teach it still, but not many. It’s not as widespread as it was, it’s not as common, because we didn’t have anything else. But, if we had, say if you broke your leg then you was a bit buggered really, ‘cos you could wrap it in as many herbs and poultices as you like but it was still broken. That’s another thing; you’ve got it better now. And a lot of the stronger medicines were a bit hit and miss, they didn’t always cure you, but if they did it made you stronger; easy to overdo it a little bit sometimes; depended a lot on the individual.
Chris: Mmm, interesting stuff. Gosh, the time’s going on. Looking at the clock and realising that the medium has a long drive ahead of him...
Billy: Well, if you’re bored we can always go…
Chris: No, I wasn’t bored, I just realised the time was going on, and we’ll have a problem....
Billy: It is getting a bit late now. I apologise for that bit of confusion earlier on.
Chris: No, that’s absolutely fine.
Billy: We’ve had a couple of funny ones today.
Group: Laughter.
Billy: Not just them, but also before as well. Chris later understood that a spirit-healer was present earlier in the seance, attempting to communicate through the vessel to offer support to one of the sitters. I was trying to get everything to work and it didn’t quite work right.
Chris: Yeah, ok.
Billy: It’s really more down to him here than them really. Again...the medium finds unusual energies difficult to accept and subconsciously rejects the unfamiliar.
Chris: Yeah.
Billy: Not used to the different ones. He was looking for the ones he recognised and they weren’t there.
Chris: Yeah, he’ll get used to it.
Billy: I try to tell him by giving him the pain in the knees.
Chris: That’s lovely.
Billy: That’s supposed to be another one for him to recognise, but it didn’t work well. Anyway, this must be time to go now.
Chris: Ok, thank you ever so much.

Chris: I’ll put the closing music on now then.

Towards the end of the seance there appeared to be some confusion as various potential communicating energies were apparent around the medium and within the cabinet area. This situation too was mentioned by Billy.

During the first half of this seance different faces flickered across the vessel's own. Many stabilised for short periods before again transforming. The body of the vessel was also tranformed briefly several times, displaying him as short and fat, tall and thin, wide shouldered and so on. A fascinating demonstration.

Following the period of transfiguration work Charlie came forward to answer questions put to him first by Chris, and afterwards by Phil and Shirley. When Charlie withdrew Billy came forward and he too answered questions from Phil.

The evening began with the spirit team working for the development of transfiguration. During this period several knocks sounded within the lodge walls. One within the cabinet frame. This work lasted for 50 minutes, after which time Charlie came forward for his customary chat.

Charlie responded to various questions posed by Chris. These questions had been offered by friends who had requested spirit's guidance on the subjects involved. Tony also asked Charlie about himself and his role in the spirit team.

When Charlie withdrew Billy came through and shared some light hearted communication with the sitters. Billy commented that the knocking sounds were from guests, and from Rachel who had copied them.

March 26th

During the first 40 minutes of the seance many faces were displayed across the medium's own.

There was a great deal of foggy mist within the caqbinet area, and some feeling of 'energy' noticed and remarked upon within the room.

Following this demonstration Charlie came forward and Margaret asked him about fairies, were they real? Charlie replied that energy is all things, all things are energy. All things are as real as one believes them to be. If one believes in fairies, one will see them and they will be real.

Dave asked then some questions about healing. Charlie replied that we are a blend of mind, body and spirit and for healing to take place harmony and balance is needed.

As the seance drew to a close it became apparent that two spirit children were wishing to come forward, but time did not allow this communication to take place. Chris therefore acknowledged their presence and invited them to come along 'next time'. We then closed with the customary prayer.

The evening began as usual with a demonstration of 'faces' seen clearly within the set lighting conditions. One this occasion we had placed the red light on a small table, rather than placing it on the floor. Within seance the spirit team told us that they were unaffected by the lighting change. After the seance we also discussed this change amongst ourselves and all were of the opinion that this new position was beneficial.

Prior to the seance we had all (within the house) been discussing the possibility of spirit speaking through the medium, whilst at the same time the faces becoming changed. Having exchanged mention of this with sitters in another Circle, who like ourselves are sitting in support of transfiguration, we felt that we had together learned that the two demonstrations (trance communication and facial phenomena) were not together compatible, or customarily did not occur. However, within this evening's seance Charlie spoke, with reduced clarity due to inexperience, whilst the faces continued to change. He told us not to assume anything, but to continue to open our minds to the perceived impossible.

During this seance Charlie came forward as described and responded to many questions posed by sitters. He was followed by Billy, and then Hussan.

It should be mentioned here that another Medium had sat in seance within the cabinet a few days prior to this evening's seance. Two of the communicators customarily visiting through this other Medium are familiarly known to this Circle, and during this evening's seance came forward briefly to let us know that they were present. Their brief communication was welcomed by the sitters.

A lovely evening....and certainly very interesting.

NOTE: After writing this report I was asked by FC to add the fact that both Jack and myself heard a tapping sound behind his chair when we were mentioning the two unexpected visitors. I had not added this tapping sound to the report as I was uncertain of the cause. FC has asked that this "communication through the manipulation of energy and sound" be acknowledged. I therefore add this note.

The seance began as usual, with many faces seen blended with the medium's own.

During much of the time Michelle (who was seated in the north corner of te room) was also experiencing a spirit-induced trance state, although this appeared to be rather lighter than is usual for her, she also felt specific pain that appeared to be spirit enabled for some reason not yet known.

Following the transfiguration demonstration Charlie came forward for a chat, which was very interesting, as usual. He was followed by Billy, who told us that Hussan had wanted to come forward, but had been unable to do so due to a drop in available energies. Billy said that Hussan (a regular spirit communicator) wants to know whether we had found the report of archaeological remains recently discovered in North East Africa. We haven't. * After the seance we all went back into the house and there discussed what we had each seen that evening. For evaluation purposes it was noted on this occasion that ALL sitters had seen a wide variety of face changes. ALL had seen the presentation of a head having long wavy hair. ALL had seen a face having strongly oriental features and a shaven (bald) head. ALL had seen mist, or fog, of cloudiness within the cabinet area, as well as dark and lighter places. Two witnesses (seated side by side) had seen a quantity of small blue lights. ALL had seen energy blurring and obscuring the medium's lower face and mouth.

A thoroughly interesting seance. Chris felt, and feels, strong affection for the whole spirit team and for all the sitters that made this seance, and all the other seances we enjoy here, possible.

This seance began as usual with various faces seen to cover or blend with Jon's own. Some of the faces seemed to come forward, to display in almost 3D format. In addition to this there was a lot of interesting 'cloudy stuff' seen within the cabinet area. We do not know what form of energy is being used within these seances at the present time....but whatever it is it's presentation is certainly visible in fairly clear lighting conditions.

As usual the seance began with a demonstration of transfiguration phenomena. As the lighting conditions were clearer than usual the visual presentation was changed. Chris and Margaret felt that their view of the facial changes to be clearer than usual. Jack however felt the faces were less clear. Lynne saw very little, but was wearing her old glasses, which didn't help! Aside from the faces Jack saw lights and energy 'fuzzing' and blur within the cabinet area. Chris saw energy 'fuzzing' and blur, but didn't see any lights. In all though, and interesting period.

Following the transfiguration development, Charlie came forward. With clarity he answered several questions from Chris, Margaret and Jack.

February 11th. Faces

The seance began as usual, with various different faces becoming displayed over the vessel's own during the final section of the first piece of music, and continuing for a period in excess of 40 minutes. During this display parts of the vessels torso appeared altered too, with a variety of physical presentation seen. There was pale misty energy visible within the cabinet area for most this time also.

Following such demonstration, which was fascinating to watch, Charlie, Hussan and Billy each came forward to communicate with us.

On this occasion Jack has kindly transcribed Charlie's communication:

Throughout the trance channelling experience Jon remained perfectly stationary except for an intense vibration in his right hand as it rested on the arm of the chair. His voice was deep, and he spoke slowly and clearly.

Referring to face transfiguration observed as the channel entered into his trance state:

Charlie: An interesting time.
Chris: Lots of 3D faces, lots of different changing faces and some very stable ones as well.
Charlie: A change in energy…
Chris: Yeah.
Charlie: … has helped this.
Chris: Yes, good. You referring to the new sitter?
Charlie: No, the light bulb.
Group: Laughter.
Charlie: Of course the new source of energy.
Chris: Yeah, he’s alright isn’t he? What’s your opinion from your side?
Charlie: Could do with a shave…
Group: Laughter.
Charlie: …and perhaps a hair cut.
Group: Laughter.
Chris: Didn’t you used to have long hair?
Charlie: Ah, in my younger days. Unfortunately, as time went on, such a luxury was not for me.
Chris: How did you used to cut your hair in those days?
Charlie: Ah, with a, ah, what you would call, ah, like a scissor, but not as you would know. It was, ah, one piece of iron that was two blades, but sprung together. So, held in the hand, and squeezed, the two blades would close upon each other.
Chris: Okay.
Charlie: Ah, more like, ah, shears.
Chris: Did you used to shave?
Charlie: Not something I needed to do… it was… not necessary.
Chris: Why?
Charlie: Nature can take its course.
Chris: Okay.
Charlie: It is only man’s choice to change his natural appearance. Yet, sometimes, too much and it gets in the soup.
Group: Laughter.
Charlie: Can be difficult to keep clean.
Chris: That’s the end of my silly questions; would you like some sensible ones if we can think of any?
Charlie: No, silly ones are fine.
Group: Laughter.
Charlie: Sensible ones mean I might have to work.
Group: Laughter.
Chris: That doesn’t mean that you’re not going to get a sensible question if Jack’s got one.
Charlie: He is welcome to ask, I can give no guarantees of a sensible answer.
Jack: Umm, I’d like to know why you come to the Earth-Plane to talk to us?
Charlie: Hmm, ah, I wonder myself sometimes. I come because I am called, because I desire to work this form. It is an opportunity to give people insight and awareness they might not gain otherwise. To answer questions, but most importantly to give them a new platform from which to ask new questions. Many people, in this world today, have turned away from matters of spirit and faith and belief, they follow a new master, which is a very inflexible teacher. It allows only one answer to any question, and that answer must always be absolute and irrefutable. More than one answer is simply not accepted by men of today’s science. Yet, as now, these men are finding in truth there is more than one answer to many questions. In simple mathematics it is possible to prove two answers to a single question. This is learnt at even school level. And as now they explore deeper into the mysteries that confront them, they are finding that some things have no answer at all until they are observed, and then the act of observation will determine the state of the answer. So, those people who find themselves in this room are often those who are looking for alternative solutions to those [questions] presented by modern thinking. All men, all women have, inside, a yearning that cannot be met by science alone. There is an inbuilt desire to know the truth; the inner truth. Some search in their own way, some turn their backs, some meditate, some read others thoughts and answers and derive their own. Some are hit by a large brick from behind…
Group: Laughter.
Charlie: … and suddenly realise they were on the wrong path. All ways are valid ways, and no path is incorrect- even that of modern science, because there too, unless you follow blindly, you will be required to think and question. To come here is simply an opportunity to look at questions in a different way and provide some room for thought that perhaps there is more to life than meets the eye or can be measured. Does this answer your question my friend?
Jack: Yes, it does. Can I ask another question?
Charlie: You may ask as much as you like, I may not always choose to answer everything though.
Jack: Umm, can you give any description of the process of getting in to your channel’s body?
Charlie: Hmm, very well. The process from my side, or the process from his?
Jack: Your side.
Charlie: From my side it is simply a moving closer. In this particular state, in this place, on this night there are a number of us that work together and in working together we enable a deep state of relaxation, and in this state of relaxation it is possible to move his energy and awareness together. Normally this is only possible one at a time without many years of practice and training through meditation. But through this process we can encourage a state where his energy opens and is accepting of new energies. When this state is reached I am able to bring myself, as an energy, close and within his without being rejected. It is normal for the human energy system to be self contained, and it is rare for a human to accept an external energy in – this is a natural state and a suitable state of precaution, otherwise any energy could attach itself to any human form, and this would not be advisable or a reasonable state of affairs. In the physical form it is the purpose to remain independent and individual so that you may experience and learn through the process of life as an individual through external reactions and interactions. To have an external energy form within your own would be to share your experiences with another, and they would then not be your experiences as you would be influenced by this other energy. It can happen that this energy might not be beneficial to your growth and learning, so, through this process of opening and expanding his energy to a point where he is willing to accept my own I developed over time a level of trust, and I am able to come so close that we can share the mechanical process of the mind. So I am able to communicate through him yet also with him – we are not separate in this form but a blend of the two, so I can use his language processes and not the process of language I would have known in my former life, which is just as well as my language was somewhat unintelligible to your self….
Group: Laughter.
Charlie: … but it also means I can only use the language that he has, and we use the mechanics of the same voice. It is deliberate to change the tone of his voice so that it seems less like him talking to you, also to distinguish between myself and others who may come to communicate. We could quite easily talk in his normal voice, yet it might seem less believable, and our purpose is to offer thought inspired by ourselves, not by him.
Jack: Thank you, umm, could you explain or describe what the spirit-world is like, in any detail?
Chris: That’s an old favourite.
Charlie: Ah, as much detail as you require. The spirit-world is a combination of other spirit energies, but mostly your own expectations and perceptions. It is or, I should say, it will, to your eyes, on your arrival here seem very much like the world you have known; there will be remarkably little difference. You will look and feel and hear the same, you will have touch and you will perceive yourself to have a physical body. On arrival here, depending on your state of departure, you will be brought back to full health if it is required – some require more help than others. However, the world you will encounter will be very much a creation of your own perceptions and expectations. If you firmly believe that, let us suggest you were a devout Muslim you would have clear expectations as to the world you would expect to encounter. If you were a devout Christian of a particular sect you may believe strongly that only you of that particular sect were to be saved, you would find yourself in the company of only those who also believed they were to be saved in your belief, and in this it would validate your belief system. But, in time, you might start to question and, eventually, your perception would open to allow you to see beyond the confines of these beliefs. There are many who find themselves in states unfortunate that you might feel they were not satisfactory. There are many who transition to their new world with such firm beliefs, or lack of expectation, that they may not find themselves open to the wonders that await them. But this is only a temporary place. There are many, many earths who work ceaselessly to help such unfortunate people; they are there on hand to open the doors that they may perceive the truth that awaits them. There are more than one state of awareness, you are now currently in your current state of awareness, and the physical world you experience and live in seems to you to be absolute and relative, in that the floor is absolutely hard, and you exist relative to everything else in your world. Yet, in the spirit-world, things are not absolute or totally relative; relativity is a flexible term in spirit. You may question why we are so enthusiastic to share this knowledge when, in truth, every single living being will experience this for themselves in due course. By having an awareness and an openness to the truth of spirit it is far easier to move through the first levels and reengage with your true spiritual person, with your true energy, and then you are able again to move forward and grow in a new way. I have touched here on a deeper truth that is possibly closer in answer to your earlier question, but I will not expand on this further now; perhaps another time. Maybe you will be able to refine your question to something more specific you wish to understand, but as I have told those assembled here before, my purpose is not to answer questions with absolutes, but to provide a platform from which you may explore and answer your own questions.
Jack: Thank you.
Chris: That’s very helpful Charlie, thank you very, very much. Really good.
Margaret: Is it alright to ask one more question please?
Charlie: You may ask as many as you like.
Margaret: Right.
Charlie: The answers may vary though.
Margaret: Um, when we’re in spirit we plan our…we know the time of our death, but this last week gone there was a teenage girl who was enjoying herself, she had rather an horrific accident. I wonder if… do we choose exactly how we are going to die or is it just a generalisation and then it just happens, like this girl’s nasty accident?
Charlie: The answer to your question is yes to all, which is not what you wish to hear.
Margaret: Hmm.
Charlie: But, it is a generalisation and it is an absolute at the same time. The exact nature of your passing is determined by yourself, but at a higher level than you are normally aware of. In this respect we can quickly get into deep waters – but you exist on more than one level, yet you are aware of only one level of existence for the most part of your life. There is a higher level of awareness that is not brought into daily awareness, and it is at this level that the precise nature of your transition and timing is determined. You will enter into this world with a clear plan, and you have your own goals to reach and you will set yourself a timescale to reach those. Some of those goals may be for personal growth and learning, others may be to experience different forms and facets of love. It may be that you wish only to come to barely briefly touch the world, to experience absolute unconditional love within the mother’s womb and yet not have a requirement to experience physical life beyond that. But do not forget; you come not alone but with everyone else within your circle of friends and family; so you may well chose to depart in a particular form for the benefit and awareness of another. This method of departure may be, in physical terms, horrific or tragic, yet there is growth and learning and experience for those who are left behind, and it may be that it is for that purpose that you have chosen to leave so abruptly. There is no accidental death; all life has purpose and all events have meaning, and it is what you extract from those events that determines your own growth and development. And when your path is finished you will simply step aside and move on to the new one. Those that have been listening closely to these words may recognise a conflict between this answer and that given previously where I spoke of those who do not make a clean transition, or who may get delayed by their own belief systems – this is something for you to perhaps contemplate and see a path though.

January 28th. Seeing faces

The seance began quietly with music being played for 40 minutes or so whilst the spirit team demonstrated flickering facial changes and afterwards what we refer to as 3D faces, which appear to be laid on top of the medium's own.

Following this demonstration the energies were changed slightly and after some apparent adjustments were made to the medium's trance levels Charlie came forward for a chat.

January 20th. Food for thought...

The seance proceeded as usual, with spirit's demonstration of many faces overlaying the vessel's own. Two witnesses felt that they saw movement of the cabinet curtains. Another two witnesses felt that they witnessed the 'disappearance' of the vessels head as energy adjustments were made by the spirit team. Several other opinions were offered of further display. It was interesting too that Susan, who is a new sitter and without previous experience of seance, saw changes and feels sufficient interest in the phenomena to want to come along again.

As the phenomena abated, for the great part, Charlie came forward for a chat. 'Charlie' is the affectionate name offered to this highly evolved spirit person, who is a much loved regular member of the spirit team. During this period of communication Margaret mentioned today's news, as Barack Obama was inaugurated. She referred to this as being a positive historical moment. Charlie offered food for thought. January 6th. New Year!

Sitters and witnesses: Chris and Lynne.

This evening's seance was the first for 2009. The weather outside was freezing and within the Lodge feet were chilled also, so Chris and Lynne sat wrapped in blankets for the duration of the seance. Jon was dressed in a black outfit covering his everyday clothing and was well wrapped up with hat and gloves as well!

The seance was interesting for the witnesses. Lynne had new specs and was pleased to be able to see the transfiguration demonstrations clearly. Chris, as usual, felt amazed at times at the clarity of the features presented. On this occasion she took particular interest
in the 3D effect of the presentation and became aware of the teams intention to slide the face sideways, so as to present two faces to be seen. This didn't occur in fact, but was clearly suggested by FC (spirit guide) as a possibility that may occur with further development.

Following the main part of the evening's transfiguration work 'Charlie' came forward for a chat. Lynne mentioned her cold feet to him, so in response 'Charlie' talked her through a guided meditation in order to enable her focus upon the warmth within her belly, and suggested that with focus this warmth may become further spread to warm her whole body, despite external weather factors. 'Charlie' further explained that much within our world can become similarly changed by tuning into the power and strength of knowledge through self atunement.

NOTE:
This seance was recorded using the new camcorder but the settings were proven to be inappropriate and did not give us a clear recording. We will continue to experiment with different settings within future seances.

December 18th. Busking.

This was the final seance for 2008 with two regularly-sitting medium's present.

As the seance was officially set up in support of Jon and his team we all sat for 45 minutes for this purpose. During this period of time many faces were presented, clearly seen blended with the medium's own. Chris also felt that she saw changes to the appearance of the body of the medium but, as the other sitter did not see this also, the phenomena is unconfirmed.

Interestingly, during the demonstration it was apparent that several of Sandy's spirit team were coming forward to witness the presentation also. Chris and Margaret recognised the presence of Martin, Graham and Joseph during this period.

When the transfiguration drew towards an end an oriental communicator appeared briefly through Jon, before Billy presented more assuredly. At the same time as this, Graham came forward through Sandy.

The fun then began, as Jon had brought a guitar with him, Chris asked Sandy's spirit communicaator Graham, whether Martin would like the opportunity to try to play a guitar again. After a little time and adjustment, Martin came forward and the guitar was duly handed to him. Sandy, the medium, then held the guitar in left-handed style (she herself is not left handed) and at an angle typical of guitar players during the 60's (Martin told us that he passed in 1958 at age 30). Later both Chris and Sandy felt that he had played a flat guitar, which was red and white in colour.

At close of seance both Billy and Joseph (Sandy's primary spirit guide) joined to thank each other and the sitters for the experience shared.

December 9th. Seeing the light

This evening's seance was set up with clear lighting (this decision was made after due consultation with the spirit team, who are not using ectoplasm for their demonstrations). This lighting was required as our video camera is not particularly light sensitive (the team had told us not to use infra-red). As a result of the bright lighting conditions the presentation of phenomena was greatly reduced. Having said this, it was apparent that the spirit team were striving to present as best they could in the given circumstances. As always with the seances here all is a learning experience for both sides.

During the seance three of the four sitters witnessed visual phenomena typical of transfiguration demonstration within the cabinet area during the recording, as well as one person seeing some form of spirit light. It is therefore hoped that something of this might have been caught on camera. We will have to wait til the weekend, when we have time to study the recording, to find out! Obviously we will report any findings here.

Meanwhile we will continue to enjoy all that occurs within the Lodge setting and to learn from our shared experiences along with our practising medium's and their spirit teams.

December 2nd. Fireside chat

Acting upon recent spirit guidance the medium's chair was covered with navy fabric, the same as the inside of the cabinet itself. He also dressed in plain navy clothing.

In fact this suggestion worked very well. The faces and physical shapes were more clearly seen without the distractions of regular clothing. The demonstration of transfiguration lasted for a full hour and was absolutely fascinating to watch. Towards the end of the seance Chris asked the spirit team if we could try using a video camera to record the faces we can see. This suggestion received agreement, although we were told that it is unlikely that faces can be recorded at this stage in development they said that we could try.

Following the transfiguration work Billy came forward for a chat. Margaret mentioned the cold weather, so Billy told us that when he was living on the earth plain winter nights were colder. He said that the children would sleep together in front of the fire, sleeping on mattresses made of rough hemp cloth and filled with straw. They covered themselves with rough wool rugs and fur skins. Parents slept together beneath rough blankets. Lighting was provided by lamps that smelled foul as they were made from animal fat. A great part of the pleasure of chatting with the spirit people is the casual reminisence of those who come forward to share their history with us. Many of our spirit communicators are regular attenders here and it's lovely to meet them each week here in the seance environment.

A lovely evening with developmental progress made.

November 27th. 3D Faces

The seance began as usual with different faces seen blending with the vessel's own. This demonstration continued for about 40 minutes before a change occured. This change involved an alteration of energy that resulted in facial features being presented slightly above the surface of the medium's skin. This was fascinating to see!

Following the visual demonstrations the spirit team came forward to chat with us through the process known as trance mediumship. A new communicator was first heard quietly for a few minutes before withdrawing. Then Charlie came forward. In response to a question from Marsha he explained a little about Indigo children and then went on to answer a question from Dave and Pam about those who appear to be living a pointless life through long-term ill health, for instance. Charlie explained that no life is pointless and that others learn through witnessing the suffering of others.

Charlie was followed by Hussan, and then Billy supported communication from a person in spirit who described himself as Alfie, or Albert or Alfred and told us that his leg, which had been a problem in life, was now well. He also said that he was connected in life to a lady named Mary Ethel. He seemed to be displaying himself towards Pam. Currently Pam has no recognition of such a person, but this might change as time goes on.

November 11th. Memories

The seance began promptly, with signs of spirit presence before the formal beginning. Sitters settled to watch as the faces flickered across the vessel's own. Many of the faces this evening remained stable for several seconds. Some of the faces appeared as if separate from the vessel, whereas other appeared as a blended part of himself. The spirit team are working in various ways to achieve their ultimate goal, which is to present stable and clear features as validation of continuing life.

The demonstration of this phenomena lasted for about 50 minutes. Afterwards Hussan came forward and chatted with us and answered questions before withdrawing to allow Billy to come forward.

Chris asked Billy where memory is kept, as it is apparent that spirit people remember life upon the earth plane, which indicates that memories are not stored in the physical brain.
Billy explained that the memories are part of a person, part of the whole person, not just part of the physical body. Chris then asked where her intelligence is kept! This question of course caused much banter and jocularity to be exchanged! However, Billy again explained that intelligence is not just connected to physical matter, but is also part of the etherical or spirit body.

Once again, a lovely lighthearted evening.

The seance began quietly and after a few minutes many faces began to flicker across the vessel's own. The appearance of the torso of the vessel was also changed during the demonstration.

After this period, which lasted for about 50 minutes, Charlie came forward. He chatted and joked with the sitters and answered questions offered by Chris, Dave and Margaret.

Towards the end of the seance Billy came forward to chat also.

November 4th. Little green men

The seance began as usual, although unusually Chris had felt the suggestion to sit in the north corner, which she did during the period of transfiguration demonstration.

On this occasion all witnesses reported seeing less faces than usual, but all also reported seeing 'just a face', without a body.

Also during this period sitters were aware of something 'going on' within the cabinet area. This was described as some 'difference' to the way the spirit team were working with the vessel. Jon later said that the sitting had felt very different to him, and in particular that there was an intense energy at one point which puzzled him.

Following this period of demonstration the vessel was brought to a state of consciousness to enable trance communication. The first communicator was assumed to be Sanya, although there was some doubt expressed after the close of seance. The second communicator was Charlie, who joked and chatted with us for some time. Margaret asked him about the reality of unidentified flying objects and visitors from other planets. To this Charlie suggested that as we have witnessed spirit materialisation and apported objects within seance conditions and are aware of similar unexplained happenings, we should not necessarily believe what science describes as little green men in spaceships. There is much that science fails to understand. Parallel universes being one such phenomena. Charlie left us with many thoughts to consider.

Finally Billy came forward just to say 'hello' and 'goodnight' as the seance was closing.

An interesting seance. Also a very peaceful one and much appreciated for the relaxation offered.

Past Life Regression

This evening's event was held in place of the regular Spirit Sanctuary Circle seance.

Chris, Margaret and Michelle sat together in the Lodge for the purpose of enabling a past life regression experience for Margaret and Michelle. On this occasion Margaret was seated in the open cabinet, with Margaret seated opposite her in the north corner of the Lodge.

Chris opened the evening with the customary prayer before the group relaxed to the sound of familiar background music. Chris then led the others through a period of guided meditation. No further depth of hypnosis was required. Margaret spoke of herself as being a lady dressed in white, who wore black shoes. She described herself as having been sent to nurse others.

October 21st. I ain't got nobody...

The seance began as usual. However, last week the spirit team had requested a slight change in the music being played during the seance, so a new CD had been compiled to meet this request. The new music appeared to be helpful as the energy within the cabinet and surrounding area became visibly changed as the team worked.

Visually many faces flickered across the medium's own in the same as has been witnessed here for the past few months by many sitters within the Sanctuary seances. However until recently Lynne has been unable to see these changes. This evening however both Chris and Lynne saw the same things, as far as we can judge.

One area of phenomena that both saw was the changing energy in and around the cabinet, and within this, the disappearance of the medium's body from head to knees. This occured on several occasions.

After the team's working in this way they came forward to say that the music had been helpful to the developmental work being carried out. Billy also thanked us for taking the time to bake his honey pudding as the thought was appreciated.

Billy's Honey Pudding

Mix one half-cup of honey with six ounces of bread crumbs and add one half-cup of milk, one half-teaspoon of ginger, grated rind of half a lemon and yolks of two eggs. Beat the mixture thoroughly and then add two tablespoons of butter and the whites of the eggs well beaten. Steam for about two hours in a pudding mold which is not more than three-quarters full.

As usual, during the first 40 minutes of the seance the spirit team worked with the vessel towards the more stabilised demonstration of transfiguration and some form of direct voice phenomena. During this period many faces were seen by all sitters. It was later noted that Sue, who had not sat in seance with Jon before had not realised what she was to witness. She was therefore surprised when she saw faces!

This seance was slightly unusual on several counts. As much of what actually occured was of a subjective nature we have been asked not to publish a full report. This is because the subjective experience of one person is not considered to be evidential phenomena according to our Circle's intent and purpose for sitting.

From a sitters perspective however we witnessed the clear appearance and changes of many faces within the red lighting conditions. All three sitters witnessed this.

September 23rd. Important Message

As is customary, the first 40 minutes of the seance was set aside to enable the spirit team to work for the development of transfiguration. During this period the sitters generally relax and enjoy the supportive energies around them.

Chris was the only one this evening who actually and certainly saw faces and physical change within the area of the cabinet. Heather did see faces, but is inclined to see them within a red lighting situation and feel that her imagination is to blame for this.

Chris feels encouraged to say that the faces appeared more stable than usual, but with perhaps less clarity and detail seen. She also noted that when Charlie came through an oriental face seemed present and this changed to a different face when Billy came forward. Chris felt this to be quite a big step forward in the development of transfiguration. NOTE: As only Chris saw these things, one must allow that there is further work to be done. It is this Circles policy to disregard evidential phenomena unless it is witnesed by more than one person at the same time.

Interestingly this evening we had a new sitter within the Lodge. Simon had shown some signs of nervousness before the seance, and he spent the first half hour warily awaiting the arrival of headless spooks and flying broomsticks! Gradually he accepted that all was safe and calm and became able to enjoy the experience without fear.

This morning Chris sat with Jon for his further development. This sitting was interesting, as usual, but there was little of unusual significance to report. Until near to the end!

Billy came forward towards the end of the sitting. Chris asked him about brain and spirit.
She said that, as brain is the bit that records our learning, does this mean that our spirit is part of our brain, or what! This typically fluid and vague question became further expanded. Billy struggled patiently to explain the nature of spirit, spirit guides and so on and so forth.

Chris offers the recording of this exchange for the possible interest of others. Before settling to listen, she advises that they (particularly if they are of male gender) have a decent cup of coffee in one hand and a couple of paracetamol in the other!

September 9th. Red light.

Prior to this seance FC had suggested to Chris that she place the Scole dome centrally in the room. As the seance was about to begin FC also suggested that red lighting be used on this occasion. Chris checked that Jon was happy with this before these conditions were put in place. Conditions are usually set by the spirit team working with the Medium, however it has been apparent on many occasions that FC's suggestion is somehow accepted as 'part of it all'.

Within the red lighting conditions sitters were unable to see the familar faces normally witnessed during the customary initial period of demonstration. However energy was 'seen' around the cabinet area and Chris was particularly aware of a change of energy type within the building. Chris is an ectoplasmic junkie!

The seance began with sitters relaxing within the environment of the room whilst the spirit team worked with the medium for the development of transfiguration phenomena. During this period many faces were seen to flicker across the medium's own. There was some vibration noted (shaking of the physical body of the medium) as adjustments were made by the team. This developmental period lasted for 50 minutes. The medium's state of consciousness was then adjusted by the team so as to enable trance communication.

Charlie was the first communicator. Rather oddly, even for us, we started to chat with him in a light hearted manner about the annihilation of the world. For some reason we asked serious questions and Charlie responded equally seriously, whilst the general discussion remained light hearted between us. In all a very interesting experience, with many thoughts provoked.

The seance began in the usual manner. Jon was taken into a deep trance state whilst the transfiguration development was demonstrated. Very many faces flickered across the medium's own. Some of the faces remained 'stable' for several seconds, whereas most were changed more swiftly.

The phenomena is difficult to describe. One feels that the eyes decieve, and that the appearance of the faces is imaginary. But then, when the medium's state of consciousness is altered during the communication period the changing faces aren't then apparent. Also, the sitters are also sitting in the same lighting conditions, and their faces aren't 'distorted' in the same way.

This period of demonstration lasted for 50 minutes, before the vessel was brought back a little in order to enable channelled communication.

Charlie was the first communicator to come forward. He withdrew after a short period and Billy then came through for a chat.

Finally from the medium's perspective: Jon afterwards reported a feeling he described as being removed from his physical body, of floating in a whirlpool, of being divided, and of being curious and interested in these subjective feelings. August 27th. Team gathering.

The seance began as usual with a period of calm whilst energies within the room settled and the medium was taken into a deep trance state. This condition extended beyond the usual 40 minutes and instead lasted for a period of 50 minutes.

During this 50 minutes many faces and bodily changes flickered across the vessels body and face. Several times his head became so blurred as to appear to blend with the chair and surrounding area. There was some physical shaking witnessed on this occasion, which appeared to be due to a change in the trance condition, and was later explained as such.

August 22nd. Coloured faces

Sitter and witness: Chris

The seance was held for developmental purpose. Chris was seated on this occasion in the north corner, directly opposite the cabinet. This position offering the clearest view.

Unusually Jon was seated cross-legged in his chair, led by compulsion. This position would normally afford great discomfort due to a permanent knee injury. It was noted over an hour later that no discomfort was felt during or after the seance.

The development work was extremely affective. As usual many faces flickered across the vessel's own. Each displaying totally different facial features, all lasting in clarity but a few seconds before change. The phenomena covered the whole of the vessel's body and beyond. One several occasions legs appeared to reach to the floor, despite Jon himself remaining seated as previously described.

Faces were also of varying colour. Faces showed as being red, yellow or green. This was quite a shock to see within clearly pink lighting conditions.

Energy effects throughout the demonstration were quite complex. Eyes appeared to be open, or closed, or even one open whilst one closed. The lips moved as did the nose. The head turned slightly to one side and then the other. Arms were displayed in different positions. Still the medium himself remained seated without moving.

Following the developmental work, which lasted nearly an hour, three spirit people came forward to communicate. One being Jon's healing guide. The next being Charlie, who is always most welcomed. Finally Billy came forward for a chat. Interestingly he too attempted to display his facial features over the vessels own.

A very, very, interesting seance. It's a pity that Jon missed seeing it all...he'd have loved to watch!

August 12th. Arabian knight...

The seance began as usual with 40 minutes demonstration of the development of transfiguration. The faces were seen by all sitters, but not all saw the same thing at the same time. Alan witnessed a red mist or a blur of his vision, within the cabinet area, whilst these faces were in evidence. Margaret felt there were less faces seen and with less clarity than on some previous occasions. Chris felt that the visual effects were as usual, with many faces seen. Both Alan and Chris saw changes to the torso of the vessel, with changes to the position of the arms also.

Alan also felt that when Hussan came forward there were visual 'illusions' of an arab figure, seated draped in full length arab garments. Both Chris and Margaret felt they saw the same features that the figure displayed when last time Hussan appeared.

The voice of the vessel is now clearly 'changed' when communication takes place. By this I mean that there is a husky tone to all the voices spoken during the period of trance communication. There has always been a difference between all the voices, but whereas they used to be clearly spoken, there is now a huskiness to all of them that is a recent change. FC has said to Chris that this is as a result of internal changes that are being made to the vessel during the transfiguartion development, pending the intended introduction of 'new' communicators, perhaps of recognisable spirit people. The first 40 minutes was spent quietly watching the development of transfiguration, which we understand is being enabled through blended energy. During this period many faces flickered across the vessel's own and the time passed quickly.

Following this demonstration Chris switched on the recorder as Charlie came forward and responded to questions posed by the sitters. The evening began quietly with the customary 40 minutes of developmental work as the team worked towards the stabilisation of transfiguration phenomena.

As this demonstration came to a close the sitters were relaxed and sitting quietly when Billy came forward suddenly with a bight "Hello!" which resulted in everyone being startled out of their reverie and Chris reaching for the digital recorder!

Billy continued to chat a little, before offering the seat to Hussan (we are uncertain of the spelling). Hussan has been through only once previously, about a year ago in fact. On this occasion though, his arrival was heralded by changes in the physical representation of the vessel. Hussan presented facial and physical (torso) representative of the remembered image of himself when living in physical form. His voice was also similarly represented. Both the voice and the physical display were quite steady and in all far more advanced in presentation than any phenomena previously witnessed here. We were amazed!

Following on from this demonstration Hussan spoke with us further. He told us about the area where he lived upon the earth plane. He spoke of energy forms, as seen by himself. There was further learning shared.

As Hussan withdrew Sanya came forward for a short period before the seance came to a close.

The seance began in light hearted fashion with sitters settling to observe. Jon relaxed into the energies within the cabient area. The light music played and all was quiet. After about ten minutes there was evidence of faces becoming displayed over the vessel's own. Such demonstration continued for 25 minutes, with a few minutes break now and then, before finally ceasing.

After the seance sitters gave their opinions of what they had seen during this time. Such discussion is useful for both ourselves and the spirit team, who are after all working towards evidential display. Pam and Dave saw little of the presented faces, Pam describing them as unclear and quick to change, which resulted in her feeling uncertain of their reality. Margaret described seeing some of the faces clearly, but also said that they were passing very quickly. She also described seeing changes to the appearance of the medium's neck and torso. Chris and Sandy saw many faces clearly and often the display reached down the torso, including repositioning of the arms and legs in a few cases. The work is in the early stages of development and will continue to steadily progress.

Following this development work. Charlie came forward for a chat. At this time Sandy's guide Joseph was clearly active around her. He had been told by Sandy and Chris that he would not be working here today, but was invited to observe. Joseph is used to being in the limelight on Thursday mornings (in the Spirit Space circle) and was making his presence known during Charlie's communication, and through Billy's also. However, he remained silent, and made great displays of 'zipping his mouth up'!

The seance began as usual with soft music being played. All witnesses remained alert on this occasion (often nowadays Michelle is within a trance state within these conditions, which we now understand to be a part of her development).

Faces, as of developing transfiguration were witnessed by all three sitters, several describing seeing the same face or figure at the same time. The demonstration displayed changes to the vessel's face and torso. The faces on this occasion remained in place for longer, perhaps 5 seconds, in some instances. The vessel's physical body was supported (by spirit operators) to sit in an upright position for most of this period also.

Following this period of development and demonstration Charlie came forward for a chat.

Transfiguration Medium: Jon (seated in open cabinet)

Within a few minutes of the opening prayer there was perceived activity within the cabinet and some signs of alteration around the vessel's facial area. This subtle alteration became more obvious and then many faces flickered across the medium's own. Each face being different in shape, size and age representation. All appeared as male. Sometimes the changing features extended to the medium's waist level, presenting change of physical appearance to shoulders, chest and torso. This developmental work continued to about an hour.

Towards the close of seance Charlie came through for a short chat, as did Billy. Billy pointed out that the developmental work was continuing and asked if Chris had noticed that the vessel had remained seated in an upright position on this occasion, supported by himself and Charlie (previously the Medium has been slouched in the chair). Billy also suggested that Chris mark an area of chalk upon the blackboard and he would attempt to (in the coming weeks) to make a mark in the dust. Finally Sanya also came forward momentarily in greeting.

The evening began as usual. As the second of the 'quiet-time' opening pieces of music came to an end the spirit team were clearly working within the cabinet. All sitters became aware of different shadows and energies within the cabinet area, several sitters describing the same thing at the same time. In addition to this transfiguration was occuring at various levels of clarity and with varying degrees of stabilisation. Different faces flickered across the vessel's own, some passed very quickly, others remained clear for a few seconds.

It should be noted with honesty that Chris, at one point, saw changes within the chest area of the medium, his clothing appearing to become changed. Other sitters didn't afterwards report seeing this. Likewise Lynne didn't see any face changes at all. Such is the nature of the early development of transfiguration.

As this demonstration period closed the medium's state of conciousness was adjusted slightly to enable members of the spirit team to come forward to chat. Siters then asked questions.

The seance began quietly, with spirit presence being apparent from the beginning.

Gradually there was displayed the familiar presentation of many different generic faces as these flickered across the vessels own. There then followed a period of calm, when Chris felt that the medium had fallen asleep. Immediately after this however the appearing faces became more 'steady' and seeemd to be presented for slightly longer periods, before flickering past. For some of the time the energy appeared to extend towards the medium's neck and upper chest area, as well as his face.

When the demonstration of development came to a close Billy came forward briefly, before allowing a new communicator to introdue themselves. This proved to be a personal Guide, rather than a member of the Spirit Team.

June 24th. Charlie explaining Reality

The seance began quietly. There were signs of spirit presence before the seance began, and as the medium sat the energies appeared to settle around him. This was the first time that Jon had sat in the main Circle to work in this way and he was known to be feeling a little self-conscious. Added to this his spirit team had not worked with him for the purpose of demonstration in such a setting previously. Chris therefore expected considerable adjustments to necessarily take place. However, although there were adjustments, these were in fact hardly noticeable.

Within a short time there were changes apparent around the medium's face. Emily in particular was able to see these clearly, but soon they became as clearly seen by others also. After the seance sitters compared their impressions of the many faces seen, which were then consistently described by several sitters separately. The spirit team say that these faces are purely generic and that such experimental work will continue.

As the demonstration of transfiguration came to a close Billy came forward for a social chat. Billy told sitters a little about himself and his family, about his work on the boats and how he passed. He stayed awhile and answered questions posed by Chris, Paul and Emily.

June 20th. Moving ahead!

Prior to the seance Chris had been told by FC that the technique used for transfiguration within this setting is the vibration of the molecular structure of Jon's face, which is blended with the area closest around him, in order to form a basis for the enablement of changes to the appearance of the structure. This is a natural process using vibration techniques, not ectoplasm as has been used in the past.

The seance began as usual, with an opening prayer and then music being played quietly.

As Chris and Marsha watched Jon, who was seated within the open cabinet, there were clearly seen changes around his head and face, these gradually becoming very obvious. These changes might best be described by the sitters at that time as being areas of blurred vision...or of perceived vibrations, that caused vision to blur. Both sitters tried to adjust their view, so as to clear their vision, but were unable to do so. The 'blurred' areas remained.

As this phenomena continued it became even more obvious, and soon faces, different faces, appeared to flicker across Jon's own. At times the view of Jon's own face became totally obscurred by the 'new' faces. But the strangest was yet to come!

As the witnesses watched, both determined to 'see past' the blurriness, and to find the phenomena to be due to their imagination! However....there came a time when both witnesses simply could not see Jon's head at all. No other faces replaced his, there was simply no face to be seen, no head to be seen. There was simply a space! This phenomena was repeated, so that no doubt remained in the mind of the sitters. Both, at the same time, saw the same thing.

When Charlie had withdrawn Billy came forward for a chat, followed by Sanya. All spirit visitors were friendly, supportive and helpful. Marsha in particular found their comments validational. But it has to be said.....the sitters were struggling with the aftermath of amazement at the phenomena they had witnessed earlier, so were probably less able than usual to think of any questions to ask. There will no doubt be very many questions offered for answers next time!

June 13th. Development continues

This seance was held for the purpose of development. Therefore for much of the time Chris sat to simply observe whilst the spirit team worked with the energies within and around the medium. Various subtle effects were apparent throughout this period of time.

Most of these were evident around the facial area of the medium. Sometimes a 'shimmering' effect was witnessed, with some changes to the facial features become formed, almost overlaid. Several times facial features of oriental style were seen. Another time a male face with long curled hair framing and falling to his shoulders was 'suggested' without total clarity.

Chris observed and tried to remain objective, but there were many uncertainties, as is the case within much witnessed development work.

After awhile Billy came forward. He chatted easily with Chris and she was able to discuss the potential of one of the sitters. His reply was interrupted a couple of times, as Charlie wished to clarify a few points that were being made.

June 6th. Transfiguration development.

Sitter and witness: Chris

The seance began with a demonstration of transfiguration, through spirit enabled energy adjustment. Many faces appeared to flicker across the medium's own, appearing much as a blurred photograph at first, or a poorly tuned TV picture. This situation progressed and the faces became clear, with fully defined features. All faces were of oriental type. Some with squarish features, others rounded, and still another having a long face shape perhaps also having a pointed beard.

As this display came to a close Charlie came forward to communicate. His presence is recognised by spirt physically moving the vessels hands, for them to rest on the chair arms. his feet also spread apart and 'sit firm'. In response to Chris's query regarding the medium suffering from sore eyes after the last seance Charlie explained that this was a result of the energy-based phenomena and the medium would adjust to this in time.

Chris then described the faces she has witnessed earlier and mentioned the changing nature of these. Charlie replied that the appearance of different faces were a result of the spirit person's memory. He said that it is difficult for those within the spirit world to project the memory of their own faces, as they appeared to themselves differently throughout their earthly lives. Charlie added that the development is at an early stage, and that it is hoped for the presentation of faces to become more stable, more clearly seen and of more solid appearance.

Charlie went on to explain about time, within the spirit world. He said that indeed they experience 'moments' and some passing of time, but it is as if it is always mid afternoon, and nothing changes. It is a concept perhaps beyond our present understanding. Time is like always having a ball of string, but only short lengths of the string being apparent at any one time, but always the ball is there in its complete state.

Following on from this Billy came forward. There is a subtle change within the medium's presentation at this time, and it is appears as if a different form 'fits into' his body, and comfortable adjustments seem to be made. Billy remarked on the odd friends Chris has! He mentioned that the new bloke has weird hair! The 'new bloke' refers to a potential new sitter that was taken into the lodge yesterday, just to look around. He happens to have long curly hair, which is rather striking and unusual. No-one has been told this, only Chris knows it to be the case in fact. She therefore regards Billy's remark as evidential of his presence and consciousness. She feels also that this is validation of ability for the medium. He is currently being told what the witnesses can see, but as he sees none of it himself he remains skeptical!

Billy then suggested that he wished to experiment with the medium by calming him down. There was a period of quiet as this experiment was trialled. During this time there were changes to the vessel's breathing pattern. Chris at some point felt that there was a subtle change to the vessel's facial features also, but remained uncertain. Billy returned to say that he needed to go as there was someone else wishing to come forward for a short time, before the seance closed.

The final spirit person to come forward had presented at the last seance. He worked with tranfiguration and a clear face appearing as of oriental origin manifested, which although fading and reforming, remained one face nevertheless. Along with this phenomena, spirit moved the vessels hands to rest across his lower chest area, as seen often in oriental photographs. Again this presentation had accompanied a similar demonstration at the last sitting.

A thoroughly interesting seance. There is clear development, and obvious progress is being made.

June 3rd. The Wow factor!

The seance began with the medium's altered state of consciousness apparent from the start. There was still some excessive physical vibration, but this was more controlled than has been witnessed to date. As this state 'settled' during the first two pieces of music there was some 'energy' around the vessels facial features, that caused witnesses to feel that there was a visual change to them. Soon after this Charlie came forward and asked if we had in fact noticed anything in this regard. Chris asked if the facial changes were caused by energy, and was informed that this was the case, and that it is spirits itention to display phenomena within lit conditions where possible.

During this time Chris told Billy that a wooden box had been placed beneath the medium's chair, and asked if he could write his name on the paper within it. Billy said that he would need to depart from the medium in order to attempt this, and promptly withdrew. However on this occasion the experiment was unsuccessful. Billy returned to say that he will try again next time as it is a fun idea!

Finally, when Billy departed there was a pause before something really strange happened.
As Chris watched the medium, wondering why all had gone very quiet in fact....she saw a 'blur' forming where the medium's face should be, before the face of a Chinese gentleman appeared, looking towards her. His eyes were to be open at that time, though they closed almost immediately. Chris struggled to 'recognise' the medium's own face, and was in fact unable to do so. For just a second she felt an unfamiliar sense of shock; which settled quickly into utter amazement. The transfiguration phenomena lasted for about 30 seconds before clearing.

The seance came to a close after this as clearly the medium needed to rest. This experience is totally new to him.....it's a pity he was unable to see it!

May 30th. Billy introduces himself

The seance began as usual. There were physical vibrations of the medium evident within a few minutes of the prayer being spoken. Gradually it became clear that the vessel's spirit guide, known to us as Charlie, was present. There was soon some light communication from Charlie in response to Chris mentioning that what we were seeing was something like a TV being tuned in.

Sandy was sure that the vessel's facial appearance was altered during this early stage, but Chris was less certain, although on previous occasions has felt this to be the case. Chris noted movements to the vessel's right hand, as if a spirit-controlled pincer movement was being enabled. Chris felt this was a display of physical control by guides. In fact she wondered if they might later use this movement in order to enable writing. None of this has been confirmed.

Following light communication from Charlie he withdrew to allow Sanya to come forward. Sanya responded to various questions posed by Chris:

May 26th. From Jon's perspective *

There is very little information available regarding how this type of work feels to the person who is 'sitting in the hot seat'. Jon is of open mind and when appropriate will offer an insight to his experience from a personal perspective. So as to enable our reports to be as comprehensive as possible some of his points of view may be shared with readers. Those interested in this aspect of development will find similar information offered under the 'From Jon's perspective' heading in future. The following text refers to his sitting on 23rd May and has been taken from an e-mail he sent to Chris.

It’s kind of dream like recall. I can remember bits and pieces, fragments if you like. And if I think about those and replay them, then I start to remember other bits as well. But like after waking from a dream, it’s difficult to string the whole thing together.
Yes, at the time I was fully conscious of everything I was saying, but more as if I was listening to myself talking than actually thinking about what was being said.
This is different to previous times when I’ve been much more active and ‘questioning’ during the listening process. This time, I just kind of let go a bit more and let ‘me’ get on with it.

The only bit I do recall feeling ‘weird’ about was the last few moments. When I had an overwhelming urge to say “hi”, but this was after the first of the coming out songs. I feel this was another being, more childlike? I dunno, did you notice anything?
It was only after this that I felt the ‘pressure’ come off and I felt really nice and relaxed.

Today was also the first time I was aware of the ‘waiting’ for us to begin. I was feeling quite ‘anxious’ to go and get started. I could feel the tremors starting in my head/neck and beginning to shake, then when we were in the lodge, I was very surprised to see my hand and arm starting to go as well. Odd though that it was only the right arm, not the left. Did this keep up or change during the sitting?
I was definitely feeling quite ‘odd’ for the half hour before going out into the lodge.

May 25th. Energy adjustment

This one-to-one sitting was pre-arranged, and when Jon arrived it was obvious to himself as well as to Chris that spirit were keen to get started. This is always a welcome sign of development.

When comfortably seated within the Lodge, Chris spoke the customary opening prayer and waited whilst the energy blending process took place. Jon's physical body was shaking more than during the last two sittings, but at the same time Chris suspected that some changes were occuring with the 'energy management' relating to spirit-controlled trance becoming more effectively developed. She therefore considered the shaking, in this case, to be a sign of another step forward having been taken.

As time passed 'Charlie' presented, this presence recognised by the repositioning of Jon's arms from his lap to rest instead on the chair arms. There was, at the same time, some sign of chest expansion. Although Chris has not been made aware of the reason for this (she had noticed the same occurance in previous sittings) this time she feels it to be connected to spirit-led breathing 'differences'.....although this is an assumption and has not been confirmed.

Due to our commitments within this physical life it was not appropriate to extend this seance beyond the period of time we had previously agreed as being convenient. This was unfortunate as it was apparent that another communicator was hoping to come forward. We only hope they try again : )

In all the sitting was a peacefully relaxing one. Chris had (privately) had a stressful week and she felt a lot less anxious by the close of this seance. Jon too found the sitting enjoyable and described it as having a beneficial effect.

May 20th. 'Charlie'

This sitting was unplanned, but enjoyable just the same! Chris set up pink lighting conditions, as the red light isn't deemed necessary for the time being. Jon's trance state appeared to be a little changed, perhaps a little deeper than previously. Chris noted that his feet were adjusted during the sitting, so as to be positioned flat on the floor. This she understood to be part of the 'grounding' work.

As just sat and Chris watched, there appeared to be a couple of 'flickers' of energy (not seen; but recognised through experience) as if a visitor was coming through, without actually holding the link. Some vocalisation occured also, but fleetingly. Chris felt this may have been Sanya, but was uncertain.

Further physical movement, with Jon's hands being moved from his lap to rest on the chair arms was instigated by spirit when 'Charlie' came forward to speak.

May 18th. Guided Information*

It has been the case in the past for either developing medium's or the supporting sitter to receive guidance that appears relevant, in some cases, to the progression of the experiment. Therefore as part of this record of Jon's development we shall include any information received in this way. Readers that are interested in this aspect will find updatesof this type listed under the same heading.

Jon sent Chris an e-mail today:

This is probably nothing but next time can we put the upside down cup/ball inside the cabinet? Just a thought and for the future if anything, but felt I had to tell you…?

This is the sort of thing we will act upon. We consider it to be part of the two-way intention. The spirit team ask, we 'give'. We ask, they 'give'. They request things, we will do our best to provide, it shows that we're 'inviting them' and are welcoming.

Chris's guide in turn suggests that Jon himself should place the cup/ball in the cabinet. It's representative of him inviting the spirit team to enable physical phenomena through his provision. It is unnecessary to do more than this, as 'intention' is all that is required. Were we to give more focus to the intention it may be regarded as an expectation. Spirit does not wish us to expect results, but rather offer forward our welcome to spirit to come forward, without expectation. This is a little complex to understand but it should be remembered that spirit people, as we currently understand it, are energy forms having consciousness. They communicate through thought. It is perhaps sensible therefore to display a willingness to communicate on their terms, just as we hope that they will make similar adjustments in order to communicate with us in ways that we too will understand.

Of course, we are fully aware that these subliminal messages may just be a result of our imagination. However, we are taking part in an experiment. Only much later will we know the results. Perhaps!

May 15th. Communication manager 'Sanya' introduced.

Once again Chris was witness to Jon's sitting and again the seance was recorded. The seance Lodge was set up as for the previous week.

Jon's altered state of awareness appeared to be slightly more refined, perhaps best described as being apparent 'improved management of energy', by those within the spirit world. There was still some physical vibration evident, but this was less obvious to the witness than during the previous sitting.

Most interesting was that a new communicator came forward. There was a slight change to Jon's facial features at this time and the breathing was altered, with the chest being more expanded than before. This communicating evolved energy-being explained that they would be presenting as a female, and that they had been sent to work with the process of communication during Jon's developmental work here. The voice tones used for this communication were notably somewhat unlike Jon's own. These variations remained apparent even when on several occasions Chris interrupted the flow. As Jon is not a trained actor Chris considers this fact as being evidential of genuine trance. Through experience Chris also considers the spirit communication to be genuine. Further information about Sanya was offered, and can be heard in audio excepts from the seance recording.

May 8th. Getting started...

This was the first one-to-one sitting, for the potential purpose of enabling development, with Jon seated in the open cabinet with Chris as witness.

FC had previously offered guidance for the red lighting conditions to be set up. The table was placed centrally in the room, with the dome beneath and a floor length cloth to cover. A digital recorder was placed to one side of the room, near to the cabinet area. Jon was seated within the open cabinet. The music was from a CD selected from Chris's collection, as used within the Lodge during periods of relaxation.

During the sitting Chris evidenced various changes in Jon's physical awareness. Some shaking of one hand being an obvious display of the energy adjustments that were taking place. More subtle indications were in fact more evidential, from Chris's perspective.
